Somfy thanks the French Biathlon team for their exceptional results during the World Championships!
05/03/2012Somfy is particularly proud of the French biathlon team which, by winning 8 medals (3 gold and 5 silver), is the most titled team of the World Championships which took place in Ruhpolding, Germany
Somfy would like to specially congratulate Martin Fourcade who won three World Champion titles (10 km Sprint, 12.5 km Pursuit, 15 km Mass Start) during the same competition and entered in the Biathlon legend.
Marie-Laure Brunet, (with two silver medals in the 15 km Individual and 12.5 km Mass Start) and Simon Fourcade (silver medal in the 20 km Individual) also made an exceptional performance, both individually and as a team.
The Men’s Relay (JG. Béatrix, S. Fourcade, A. Boeuf, M. Fourcade) and the Women’s Relay (ML. Brunet, S. Boilley, A. Bescond, M. Dorin-Habert) both won silver medals showing the talent and the team spirit of the French Biathlon team.
Once again, Somfy would like to congratulate the athletes on their performance, determination and talent and also thank the coaches and technical staff.
For more than 20 years, Somfy has been a supporter of mountain sports (downhill and slalom skiing, ski mountaineering). Somfy Group is partner of the French Biathlon team since 2005 and the French National Olympic Committee since 2010. Somfy is also currently the individual sponsor of 8 young talented athletes.
Through this partnership, Somfy sponsors a sport with values such as endurance, humility and precision that are familiar to the company and its employees. Somfy accompanies, supports and guides the biathletes throughout their sporting career. This long term relationship has created, far beyond sports events, a real human relationship and closeness between the athletes, the company, the management and staff. It was only natural that at the end of his sporting career last September, Vincent Defrasne became the Director of the Somfy Foundation.
