Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team at BFT Adria d.o.o. which is part of Somfy Group, to perform and oversee local accounting operations. This role will involve collaboration with local and external parties to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with statutory requirements.

Job description:

  • Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank statements, and travel expenses in close collaboration with the local accountant.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, including the preparation of company tax reports and management of yearly Transfer Pricing documentation.
  • Prepare necessary documents and reports for external accounting firms, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Preparation of payroll with external payroll providers, ensuring compliance with local regulations and timely payments.
  • Oversee the management of fixed assets, ensuring proper tracking and reporting.
  • Monitor accounts payable in alignment with credit management procedures to ensure timely payments and vendor relationships.
  • Reconcile local books with group accounts and adhere to group accounting procedures to maintain consistency.
  • Calculate necessary provisions, including customer bonuses, salary provisions, stock provisions, and warranty provisions.
  • Monthly group closing process, including Flash reports, QSM, Profit & Loss statements, and HR reporting.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly financial analyses, focusing on gross margin, cost center management, and other key performance indicators.
  • Prepare and contribute to the Group Quarterly Consolidation Package in accordance with IFRS standards.
  • Provide support during the annual budgeting and target-setting cycle, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Validate payments and oversee credit control processes to mitigate financial risks.
  • Maintain effective communication with banks and financial institutions to manage company banking needs.
  • Supervise and monitor company expenses, including travel costs, to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Assist with HR administration, including contract management, holiday tracking, and HR group reporting.
  • Cooperate with local authorities to ensure compliance with regulations and legal requirements.
  • Provide support during regular internal audits, ensuring that all financial practices meet company policies and standards.
  • Contribute to group projects, such as cost center structures within the finance department.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Accounting, Business Administration).
  • Proven experience in finance and administration roles, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial processes.
  • Possession of an official license in Accounting & Finance, along with knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Croatian VAT rules and regulations.
  • Experience using Pantheon software for financial management and reporting.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken), along with strong computer literacy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing time and priorities.
  • Capacity to make informed decisions based on limited information and critical analysis.
  • A flexible mindset with a hands-on approach to tasks and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
