Job Description

As Sr Supply Planner for Somfy Americas, you will be responsible for procuring supply to meet customer service and inventory objectives. You will work to ensure on time deliveries from vendors and to customers. Key partners will include your Global planning teams, Vendors, Sourcing, Logistics, Demand Planning, Distribution and Customer Service. Additionally, you will understand capacity constraints and work to resolve issues proactively.

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet our customer demands, recommend and execute product purchases based on demand inputs, vendor capacity, issuing purchase requisitions and tracking their conversion to vendor purchase orders on SAP
  • Identify root causes of Customer Service Rate (CSR) on a weekly basis and provide required action items to the planners. You will oversee and manage balanced inventories across our North America distribution centers, generating internal product transfers as needed to maintain adequate stock levels according to our guidelines.
  • Manage special projects like inventory liquidations and supplier negotiations. Collaborate with Supply Chain analysts to fill corporate reports, ensuring the quality of information and generating corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Work closely with Demand Planning to forecast and prioritize demand when capacity is constrained. Manage seasonal system setup and line plan validation, partner with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve financial objectives, and support S&OP supply review meetings.
  • Highlight issues and opportunities to improve supply chain performance and participate in key projects to evolve capabilities. Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as required, providing leadership, and suggesting process improvements within the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Engineering
  • 5+ years of working in Supply Chain specifically in the areas of forecasting, procurement, demand, and supply planning in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain functions Supply chain management, vendor relations and production planning or related job
  • 2+ years of ERP experience SAP/S4HANA
  • Intermediate/advance Excel
  • Adaptable, flexible, agile and resourceful, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment with constant changes
  • Creative problem solver with an “outside of the box” mentality, a sense of priority and urgency to meet deadlines from different partners
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and maintaining persistent attention to detail, a strong team player with advanced leadership potential.
  • Disciplined, organized, and with a structured mindset, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Ownership mentality focused on customer satisfaction, with a willingness to work in a constantly changing environment
  • Create excel models and routine level reports, comfortable working with large data sets and maintaining persistent attention to detail

Additional Information

Typical hours 8:00 AM -5:00 PM Monday-Friday.

Hybrid: Tue, Wed, Thursday required in-office days.
